Katherine Sue Johnson is a User Experience Designer with a passion for distilling complex information into engaging and intuitive flows.

With experience in the fast-paced industries of gaming and e-commerce, I seek to create well-researched and well-tested designs the solve users’ needs. I value collaboration with different disciplines, understanding that diverse perspectives create a better, more holistic product.

NetherRealm Studios (WB Games)

2018 – Current

I had the honor of working on the Injustice 2 Mobile game, Mortal Kombat Mobile games, and other projects while at NetherRealm as a Mobile UX Designer. I worked closely with Game Design, UI Design, UI Engineers, User Testing Partners, and Product Management to create seamless designs that encouraged users to immerse themselves and have fun, versus burdening them with convoluted menus.

Elevate

2015 – 2018

Starting as an Associate UX Designer and leaving as a mid-level UX Designer, I worked on a variety of projects for different e-commerce brands including Hanes, Lancome, Redken, and Yves Saint Laurent. I used a variety of research and testing methodologies to fit each unique project. These included card sorting, focus groups, A/B testing, ethnographic research, and moderated user testing.

Hobbies, etc.

I had the pleasure of teaching introductory Axure RP workshops and serving as a UX Mentor at General Assembly in Chicago a few years ago.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, cultivating my cookbook collection (currently around 300 books!), playing open-world RPGs, and reading a good book next to my beatific cat, Ponder.
